On Wednesday Dorene had to have her right lung drained again. Her lung had lost elasticity and during the procedure a pneumothorax was created and/or detected... she had to go into the ER and stay for 6 hours while it was monitored. She got home late Wednesday evening and was heavily sedated for the pain. The last two days have been very difficult and Matt took Dorene to the hospital to be admitted this afternoon. Her lung has already filled with fluids again.
They are going to insert a drain tube and they will manage her pain and allow the lung to continually drain over the next two days. They then expect to perform the Pleurodesis on Monday. This is the procedure they performed on her left lung this past spring. As you may recall the surgery and recovery was very hard on Dorene. Your prayers during these next few days will be greatly appreciated.
I will update the blog as I hear more from Matt.
